Advice on selling collection

Hello.

I have given some thought about selling some vintage rifles. Is the only way to do this on here by listing each one separately in the classifieds? That's a lot of postings and pictures that can be hard to manage. Anybody know of a source in Northern California that may be interested in one or all, preferably an FFL or C&R? Not really interested in shipping either. Gone are the days in California when it was cash and carry on C&R long guns, so this looks to possibly be a hassle.

You can list them all on one thread. Photos might be a challenge but if you’re eager to sell, then some work is in order.

5 "transactions" max. per year as a seller, but can have more than 1 gun sold in a single DROS.
Consider giving a discount if multiple guns are purchased.

Find an auction house if you just want to get it over with, but lose a decent percentage of the price.

My advice is wait longer.. Right now things are very much a buyers Market in my opinion.. Everything is kinda a tough sell right now.. Towards the end of the year next, prices may double again.. But they are on a downslide right now from I have seen.. I am looking to get rid of alot of stuff in the future too.. But right now does not seem to be the time....

Unless you really need the finances right now..Wait it out..Good Luck though, and hope it works out good on your end..

Lock, stock and barrel out of Simi valley sell a ton of collections.

They can also handle shipping the guns.


Consignment takes a cut but if selling lower dollar guns, it's a time : effort ratio.

If your aim is to get market value, start of listing here in WTS and say you need a minimum of 3 or 4 guns per transaction. State a possible discount would be given for entire lot if purchased in one transaction.

If you do want someone to come to your house and pick everything up, lock stock and barrels is a good choice. They deliver good value, but their cut has gone up.

If the buyer has current valid COE and FFL03, you can do business in a "parking lot" the buyer is responsible to submit the paperwork to the state and $19 (In-State Acquired C&R Long Gun Form) and enter transactions in their own "bound book"

FFL-03 would be ideal. Not really interested in selling just one or two guns at a time which is the problem in this state . It goes against my limit of only 6 guns I can sell yearly.

By the way for those that have asked, I am in the SF Bay Area.

I’ve used Lock Stock & barrel . Yes, they charge 20% but on average get pretty good $ on their Gunbroker auctions. Also, they will come to you and pick up ( yes even No Cal.) Good outfit.
