How do these 2 compare to each other?
1. Reliability
2. Maintainability
3. Upgradability
4. Ergonomics
I've read in the other thread that SR22 is very reliable. I'm sure it will have a hiccup every now and then due to the poor quality of some 22LR rounds. How is the P22? Does it eat up most bulk ammo?
How about the ease of maintenance? Are they both easy to take apart to clean? My dad had a Ruger Mk II that was utterly reliable, but a pain to clean. I enjoy shooting the gun. I do not enjoy cleaning it. On a side note, are Ruger Mk III and Mk IV both just as much a pain to clean as the Mk II? By "clean" I mean take-down, field strip, then reassemble. I have a problem with that Mk II.
Which one has more accessories? Are spare magazines easy to find? Is there even a need to put various things on one?
They both look very similar in shape. At first glance, I thought they were the same gun but marketed by different companies. Then I noticed they have different take-down method. I have PK380 and the P22 looks like a 22LR version of the PK380. The PK380 feels very good in my hand, but a tad small. I noticed my accuracy suffers using guns with smaller grip.
Anyone here with both P22 and SR22 and can offer some insights?
