Would a .22 penetrate and kill a python?

Hit a snake in body good luck lot of muscle. Hit in head then yes.

A .22 HV in the python head will take it down. Other common handgun calibers need head shot, too. If you're not a good shot with centerfire calibers, then .22 is a better choice for its better accuracy.
