for later this year, i figure i'd just get a small scope for my kid (vortex, leupold, etc). probably will target sales in nov/dec unless something good comes up.
my understanding is the cz current setup is dove tail. while it is a rimfire .22LR and little recoil, i'm thinking of how best to prevent it from moving. i've not shot my own marlin 795 if i went with just dove tail rings myself (can't find purchases in email).
cz website shows i can purchase and put a rail on top held by 3 or 4 screws, and then go with picatinny rings and scope from there. just wondering how much higher that'll be for my kid. (can't seem to find the thickness of it). oddly i see rails with 10, 15, 30 moa and i'm chuckling here, why on a rimfire. i guess some really use it to go past 100yds (was thinning how accurate that ammo would be).
p.s i did see someone last week next to us (me and my kid) with a fancy nice chronograph (square'ish 1x1 orange colored device) to measure his match grade ammo (didn't ask him what type). seems to be very much into it and statistics measure standard deviation and all. saw something like 1100'ish ft/sec speeds showing on the display.
