The gsg5 carbine gets drosed as a long gun. The gsg5 pk gets drosed as a pistol.

im assuming the gsg-5 carbine is the one with the fixed stock on it and the gsg-5 pl is the one without a stock or with a collapsible stock? If thats the case if you dros it as a long gun does that mean you can't change the stock?

The gsg5 PK is the only one which gets drosed as a handgun. No stock, short barrel. Needs a mag lock and needs to be single shot for exemption at dros.

the GSGs that come witha stock, either fixed or collapsable are rifles, and are DROSed as long guns.

There are two GSG Pistol models, one that looks lke the HK SP-89, and one that looks like the MP5K, do not have shoulder stocks of any type, and are pistols, and would be DROSed as pistols. However, in stock form, neither pistol is legal in CA per AW regulations, and neither is on the Roster of not unsafe handguns that can be sold in CA. So, they have to be converted into non-AW and Roster-exempt pistols in order to be sold in CA.

The GSG-5 P and GSG-5 PK would both be DROSed as handguns if in legal configurations, http://www.gsg-5.com/index.pl?mode=2

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Not to hijack the thread but what's the overall length of the GSG-5 as they come in the factory box with the detached stock? If it's less than 26" then isn't it considered an AW or constructively a pistol with a detachable magazine??

I know most of the shops sell them fully assembled but how about those buying them on the GB and get them shipped in? Are you required to attach the stock before they allow you to take possession of it or do you just walk out as is in the factory box?
