    Heritage revolver carbine

Anyone got one? Is it fun? I just bought one. Looks like a quirky gun. I like quirky guns.

I'm tempted to get one. Reminds me of A Few Dollars More. Can't wait for your report on it!

Trying to hold out for a 9 shot model, they make 9 shot revolvers so theres always a chance.

I'm not seeking one out or actively looking, but if I happen to pop in to a shop and see one in stock there's a good chance I'll buy it. I've got the 16" revolver and get enough fun laughing when I shoot it to have made it worthwhile. I've gotten at least 180 bucks worth of chuckles out of it over the years.

I picked it up but haven't had a chance to fire it yet.

I compared it to the Heritage Rough Rider 4.75" revolver I bought from a few years ago and noticed some differences:

          1. The safety now has a slight hollow on the inside compared to the older model. Needless to say it's to conserve on material used in the MIM process.

          2. The frame and the ejector rod shroud seem to be more dull in finish. The older one was more glossy.

          3. This is the biggest one. I put the 22mag cylinder from my Rough Rider on the carbine and it refused to turn. The cylinder bolt is slightly too big or offset a bit too much to catch the notch in the cylinder for a bit too long to mess up the timing. It loosened up after fiddling around with it. I think it's fine now, but I haven't tried it yet. The 22LR cylinder works just fine.

If you've never shot a carbine revolver before, wear a long sleeve shirt, and don't roll up the left sleeve.

It's a cool gun. Only thing is you might cinge your support hand a little if you grip the barrel too closely in front of the cylinder but that's okay

Great advise UNLESS it has a blast shield like my Circuit Judge does.

You KNOW that designer shot one without it! Depending on the lesson, sometimes I'm a slow learner, case/point, I've been married to two redheads. Shot a Colt Root rifle, "once". Learned two lessons that day, one of them was burnt arm hair smell, will block out burnt BP smell.

I bought one a few years back.. It is a novelty thing. I sold it in real short order.. If Heritage made better quality Revolvers, I might have even kept it.. But I would venture to say that most probably suffer the same fate as mine, novelty wears off quick, it goes away..

Here's an interesting video I found on youtube.

Longer barrel on a 22LR revolver actually decreases velocity.

                      Who knew?

My next question is how would a 22WMR fare in this test?

I have one. The 22 wmr cylinder is drop in swappable according to Heritage website.

I seen this is an older post but if anyone was wondering I thought I would give my thoughts. I have one and love it. The .22lr cylinder is tons of fun. But you do have to have proper grip and not get anything in front of the cylinder. The .22 mag cylinder is no fun. The blast and stuff hitting you in the face is just way to much. But in .22 lr I can shoot a ton and have a blast with it.

Wow that golden cylinder really makes it pop.

I still haven?t tried my carbine yet. Maybe I will this weekend.

And thank you for the tip on the 22mag in the rifle. I can see that happening.
