Winchester 52B

I took my trusty Winchester 52B to the range last week and tried some Lapua Midas+ ammo in it. It seemed to like it.

I learned how to shoot smallbore with a Winchester Model 52D and my first target rifle was a Winchester Model 52B. Great rifles. I now shoot an Anschutz 2013 Super Match.

The 2013 is superior. It has a faster lock time, the stock is fully adjustable for position shooting, and Anschutz barrels are superior. It's unfair to compare the two because when Winchester made the Model 52, it was made with the best technology at that time. I have not competed in many years, but it was common to see someone still shooting a Model 52 and getting good scores. I will always fondly remember those to Model 52s that I used.
