    Ammo for the GSG-5

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What different types of ammo have you tried with success in the the GSG -5.
I just bought one ,but its still in the 10 day jail .its not like i can find any ammo right now ,but i do have Federal,Win super X,and CCI mini mags .is there any others that seem to function ok in the GSG-5.

    Thanks .

Here are a few links with some great info on that and many more subjects regarding the GSG5

I've used about everything in mine. Here's the list.

Federal Bulk 36gr - Good stuff, no problems.
Federal Match grade 40gr - No problems and easier to clean.
American Eagle 38gr copper jacket HP - A little dirty but fine, no problems.
Blazer 40gr bulk - Kinda dirty and leaves a lot of grit on the mag head and chamber block.
Aguilla 40 gr - Dirty and cheap, stay away.
CCI all kinds - great stuff but pricey. Easiest to find for me anyway.
Remington Golden Bullets - decent but scarce.
          Winchester X 40gr - no problems either.

The only stuff I've had problems with are the Aguilla (stupid import crap) and that's just cleaning the GSG. All my groups are consistant and no FTF or FTE with any of it. My main complaint is cleaning.

Well I have the pistols so I'll keep the pesos. Yeah that seems fair."

My friend and I shoot CCI stingers and they work Great,, best ones i think! He used some remingtion and federal but they would jam every so often but its was also the break in period. I think Federal shoots fine now. But with 22 being soo cheap, i would shoot the stingers... thats stuff is great, i shoot it out of all my 22's.

Stingers are like 6 bucks per 50

I just use cheap 375 550 packs from walmart. Since this gun is just for fun.

Ive been going to WAl Mart here in west orange county and have not found any bulk 22 since march.the only thing i have found since march was 4 100 round packs of Win super x,and 5 100 packs of cci mini mags.If some of the people would stop going into Wal mart to buy ammo just to turn around and sell it for profit maybe my self and others could get some so we could accually go to a range a use it. sorry had to vent

i feed mine CCI Mini-mag, never had a problem, no FTF's or FTE, whatever.
I had a discusion with the importer, ATI, when they test a rifle, they use CCI. so what, a little more expensive. do you feed your prize AR s**t ammo? so why would you feed your plinker s**t.
you get what you pay for.

I've had to go off the beaten path to find my .22 ammo and it's not easy to find. That's why I've shot a lot of different brands. But I still haven't found any Federal bulk in almost a year. But my GSG eats anything I feed it and still is decently accurate. Love this little plinker.

the most cost effective and best working ammo seems to be the federal bulk pack from walmart for my gsg5. Mine has about 5k+ rounds through it and functions fine with it.
