I'm going to buy both models no doubt. Scratching my head thinking which one to buy first. Also do you guys think there is a good chance other variations of Mark IV will be added such as the stainless steel version to the roster? Leaning towards the SR 22 to be honest

If you are already leaning towards the SR-22, get that. These two guns are .22LR’s, semi auto, and handguns. But right after that they are not in the same class. One is a target/match (yes, people do use these in bullseye comp) and the other is a trainer/defense pistol. The feel is different, sights different, accuracy, handling, purpose, different. An analogy would be a track race car and rally car. Both are sports cars, but going past the outward visuals they are nothing alike.
Very sure Ruger will be adding a lot of MKIV trims to the roster, and probably the other versions of SR-22 as well. I personally want the hunter version of the MKIV or stainless target.NRA Pistol/Rifle Instructor

i have both ruger pistols. the sr22 is an all-around plinker, utility, carry (for those wanting such in 22lr) pistol that works as advertised, and very well indeed, straight out of the box. the mark4 is a range and target pistol that can be made to work at its peak potential after customization. which one fills your needs is up to you. i?ve put 20,000 rounds through my sr22, 2,000 through my mark4. i would sell the mark4 this minute at what it cost me. i will never part from the sr22.Comment

I had the SR22. Super fun gun! Much easier to clean that the Mark Series guns, and it was not very picky with ammo.
One word of caution: Do not shoot it into the wind. On more than one occasion, I had a little bits of powder that were still burning outside of the gun that came back and burned my face. Very minor, but fortunately, I always had my glasses on so my eyes never got burned. I always made sure if anybody else was shooting my SR22 to make sure they were wearing eye protection.1A - 2A = -1A

SR22, but I've had a Mark II and Mark III and sold both. I prefer the buck mark.sigpicOriginally posted by dunndealStop digging.iTraderOriginally posted by BrassCaseI only buy fireworks from Three Finger Willie over at One Eyed Jack's Fireworks.

I find this to be a hard choice as well since both are very amazing guns.
I think if I had to, I'd go MKIV first, and then maybe the SR22."A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

FYI.
The .22LR Ruger LCP II (13747) was just added to the Roster.
Ruger will probably have it listed on their website in the next couple of days.sigpic

I just got the SR22. I already have a Buckmark and don’t mind doing the complete breakdown cleaning. Maybe a little further down they line if they are able to get a few variants of the MarkIV I’ll pick one up.Comment
