    Beretta 949 Olimpionica

Just got this delivered today..It has been on my list of one to get for quite some time in the Beretta Collection... I had time to run one mag through it on the way home from the FFL..The trigger is amazing, function flawless..It is a very smooth shooter..Trigger pull is right at 1.5 pounds..

It has some blueing loss especially on the left side, but you cannot be too choosy with these, as they are not real easy to find.... But in pretty nice condition overall for a 73 year Pistol..Bore is pristine..

This one was made in 1950 with a very low serial number.. Came with two magazines..On a side note, if anyone here owns one of these and has the barrel weight wrench..I want to duplicate one....But could use some dimensions of it..Thanks and here is a pic..Pic of the wrench I want to make included also..

    Awesome find.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
    Come on...what harm??

I went ahead and scaled off that pic..I think the scale is short on the T handle..May put a little longer one on it..Other than that it came out nice..

Most of it was simple Lathe operations..Hard part was getting the square hole in the end to fit the square heads on the weight screws..I first drilled a round hole the diameter of the width of the screw heads..Then made a square Broaching tool in my mill of the correct size..I heated the tool and drove the square broaching tool in the round end to make it square and fit the screws..

With the barrel weight, it must have ZERO recoil, haha!!

Yes that was the point of it..Not that .22 is a high recoiling round..But this was made for very quick follow up shots..And the Comp does its job well..

It is by far the smoothest shooting .22 Pistol I have ever owned or shot..And I have some pretty high quality ones..Trigger is amazing and is also the best "Factory" trigger I have ever encountered..

              Thanks

                    Thanks

I wish it was a little higher condition, but the rarity of these makes it kind of a deal where you buy one you find at the time, or you may not get another chance.....And you live with it..
