I say look for a used Ruger Mk II with a bull barrel. Going rate seems to be around $250 plus it is one of the most accurate .22 pistols I have ever shot.

I've heard nothing but great things about the Buckmarks.

The S&W 617 are great but real pricey. I think I've seen one in the FS forum for $600 yesterday.

I've got an old MK1 Bull Barrel model from the late 60's/early 70's IIRC and it's freakin sweet. Grandpa paid like $72 or some insane price by todays standards. Trigger breaks like glass and it's super accurate.

I have a Ruger 22/45 for around 7 years now and it runs flawlessly. It eats all kinds of ammo. I cant remember the last time it jammed and I clean it rarely. That being said my next .22 handgun is going to be a Kimber rimfire 1911. Like all .22 look-a-likes there are pros and cons but I want it so ill get it.

I own Ruger 22-45 and it's very reliable! Not ammo picky!

got a mkIII 22/45 512 and a mkIII 6 inch. have shot a sig mosquito and a buckmark but never shot the S&W but comparing a 22 revolver to a autoloader is not really apples to apples though i have heard good things about the model 617. Love my 22/45 especially after a couple of cheap mods. buckmark is probably next on my list.

I am happy with my 617, but, the wife likes the thinner grip of the Buckmark. The Ruger Mark III was a close second.

Sig Trailside would get my vote. Not the cheapest mind you, but a VERY nicely built pistol.
