those ramlines sucked they used a coily spring that was weak the spring will break off the body since it hooks to the top back of the spine yea i bought a couple back in the day
the only gun that seemed to work with ramline magazines was the tec-22Comment

I had 2 of those mags for my Ruger P89 that were absolutely reliable over 1000's of rounds fired.
They held 2 extra rounds over my factory ruger mags.Randall Rausch

The coil spring is riveted to the mag body but I remember the mag bodies as being blued steel.cool i think ive seen those they were stainless but had a coil spring rivited on the side near the lips was that how yours was ? i never really wanted to risk $10 but i did buy one of the eagle international 17 round smith and wesson 5906 mags it works fine although i am a bit worried if i drop it the floorplate could shatter
The baseplate on the ramline with the coiled spring in the follower was only there to stop the follower from being pushed all the way out the bottom of the mag if you keep loading rounds into the mag.
I once removed the baseplate and the mag works fine without it as long as you do not overload it to the point that the follower leaves the magazine body.Randall Rausch

thanks its been fun reminiscing about them olf pre94 hit and miss mags ramline, eagle, usa they all seemed to have magazines that gave you a little extra room using slightly shady tactics be it a hollow follower, coil springs ,slighly extended floorplates, less coils on the springThe coil spring is riveted to the mag body but I remember the mag bodies as being blued steel.

I remember those mags. A friend wanted to clean his mags after dropping them on the ground practicing reloads. After removing base pad expecting a spring to pop out it was just quiet and a stupid look. I wonder how long those coil springs last? Hope they last longer than the company. The coil spring is riveted to the mag body but I remember the mag bodies as being blued steel.

here is my eagle 17 rounder next to the factory 59 magazine (it holds 14 or 15 i cant remember) eagles secret is the floorplace has a very thin middle section for the spring to sit down in

My brother has my 2 mags and they still work fine as far as I know.I remember those mags. A friend wanted to clean his mags after dropping them on the ground practicing reloads. He said the gun has never jammed and I know he has put 1000's of rounds through it over the last 10 years.Randall Rausch

Glad to hear they still work. If the coil spring ever breaks the body might still be usable if that weld can be grounded off and it can utilize a standard follower. The wise man said just find your place
