    Ruger Flat Gate

Just picked this up from a fella on another Forum..He said it was like new and he was not lying..Great it has not been been converted too..I doubt it was ever fired much at all..

It did not come with the box..But did come with the original sales receipt from 1955 with a sale price of 62.95 from a place in NJ..Original owners manual and warranty card too..Also a certificate from 1955 from the local authority's in NJ giving him "permission" to own it..

Came with the mint original grips too..The custom ones on it are very nice though..They have the initials of the guy who made them and a date of Jan 1st 1955 carved in the back..

I will be putting the originals grips back on..But the screw is missing..Have to get one of those..Came with a nice vintage holster rig..But that is way too small for my belly,LOL

        Thanks

I called Ruger and they are sending me out a couple grip screws, said he would send two in case I need a spare..No charge at all, that was nice of them..

But they are stainless steel..I am uncertain on this, but I would think the early ones like mine would have been a blued version..I will have to do some checking on that for sure..

            That is one pretty pistol!
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

This may sound sad..But I am not even sure how much I will be shooting it..I will surely take it out once for sure..But after that probably not to much..I have a lot of 22 Handguns and Rifles..And not enough time to get them all out too often.I have ones I have never had time to take out out..

Very nice rimfire and cool of Ruger to help you out.

I get it over the years we end up acquiring a lot of firearms, gets to be were we have more firearms then time and or money to shoot them all.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

Yes then add in aging, and failing eyesight and it gets alot less fun to go out,LOL

Love the unmolested Old Model Ruger single-action revolvers! That is a very nice example when you consider how old it is! And yes, shoot the hell out of it! You ain't gonna hurt it!
Regarding "Old Eyes"---check and see if you have cataracts---I did and when they removed them and inserted a needed lens, my eye sight is better now than it's been in 20 years (!) Can see pistol sights perfectly now...

                        Nice!

Take the belt to a leather guy and have him make a short, yet color/style matched “extender” so you can use the holster.

Or, if pattern match isn’t important, get a good quality leather belt as close to the same color as you can and trim it.
