I run a GM bull barrel and Vorq sear and I hit the shotgun primer with one shot at 50 yards yesterday.

That's what I want to do! I'm short the sear at the moment.

Go to Rimfirecentral.com to build that budget tack driver!

I would suggest that you hang out at Rimfirecentral and read read read

You can build yourself a slick trigger by buying yoursel a Volquartsen hammer ($35 or so) and do the JB Weld trick. The VQ hammer and JB weld trick will really lighten your trigger and you will be pleased at how little it bit your wallet.
Now, your trigger won't be quite as nice as a Kidd trigger, but it will be pretty darn good for a lot less $$. Darn near one tenth the money!

There is a member on RFC named Nemohunter who can rechamber your stock barrel for under a C note.
According to many who have had this done, a Nemo reworked barrel will shoot right up there with the big name aftermarket barrels.

Those two mods will give you a lot of Bang for your Buck!
Looking for an early Beretta 92 Step Slide
and Factory Nickel Sig P228 and P220

I re-worked the stock fire control group with a VQ hammer and added set screws like the power/vq parts have.
Even with taking out all the slop, the trigger is nowhere near the Kidd trigger I just got.
It's quite an improvement over stock, but NOTHING like the Kidd.

The Kidd is well worth the money.

                Read the post again

The original post was about getting bang for the buck on a budget build.

I happen to love my Kidd trigger, but it does not fall into the Budget Mod category.

I don't know about you, but after several goes at it, I've gotten nice triggers out of the JB weld trick and VQ hammers.

The best darn 1022 trigger bar none, was made for me by Arnold Jewell back in the early 90's.

The trigger trick is next...I need to find the VQ hammer.
A buddy just picked up his Benelli M2 today and swung by my house asking if I wanted to go for a quick jaunt to the range...since the fajen stock showed up and I had just put the 10/22 together, I went.
Forgot the mag so it was a slow go at it...didn't have any targets either cause I left the house in a hurry doing this number... BUT, some homie left me a box with a bad guy on it that made for several good little targets, like the eyes, the numbers on the ring, and the letters in the "CHEAPER THAN DIRT" logo. The rifle also has the worst $2 scope ever made on it, because the old 10/22 wasn't worth having anything better, Suprisingly, the 10/22 was putting some great groups together at 25 yards (not far I know) with bulk federal!

I cant wait to do the VQ trigger trick, put a $50 scope on it (LOL), and use some CCI's. BTW, so far i'm using a used GM BBarrel, and a Fajen stock.

OH! AND at 300 yds it was more consistent than EVER before. More to come, thanks for the continued help with cheap 10/22 tackdriver, keep it coming.
