Looks like family stuff will keep me from getting to Bass Pro. Oh well.

My two Colt Frontier Scouts have aluminum frames and triggerguards so hopefully you are looking at some other model.

Then of course, there is the other end of the spectrum, and yes, you can order an additional .22 Magnum cylinder.

AR-15 barrels Yes it is a different Colt than your. Please don’t quote me since I’m not a well versed on dates/years of Colts 22 offerings.

From what I gather it looks like your Colts are the Scout models or frontier scouts? Unclear on which might have adjustable sights or not .

The one set I’m going to purchase is marked on the end label “Peacemaker 22”
It’s all steel with fixed sights ,6” barrel and convertible with a 22 LR and 22 mag cylinder . The cylinders ,barrel and grip frame are blued and the frame is case hardened.I believe it’s a wood grain looking outer box not the burgundy colored one from the 80’s .Its been in a local dealers safe for 6 years as he took it on trade. He offered it to me for $650 OTD so I think my $150 will go towards that instead of toward a Heritage set. I have a stainless single 10 ,a 6” 617 prelock 10 shot , (2) k22 transitional and a snubbie prelock 34-1 in revolvers but no Colts so I’m looking forward to getting it. It will be a few weeks before I pick it up .

            Mine are both Frontier Scouts.
One is 22LR and the other is 22 Magnum.

Tim, I was given a Peacemaker that's exactly as you describe, including the wood grain box. It's a nice shooter, and of course a classic SA.

I ran the serial number of my gun at Colt's site and found it was made in 1972.

The Peacemaker should serve you well!

Nice ,that Colt set is stone mint .would it be Sacrilegious to not shoot it or is that set not at a collectible level yet ?Like I’ve said before not versed well in all the 22 six guns Colt made over the years.
