Pretty much any 1911 can be fitted with a .22lr conversion kit. There are several manufacturers of conversion kits, but I would recommend the Advantage Arms kit as they are a company I have experience with. Others include Marvel Precision, and Ceiner. I personally would stay away from Ceiner (they make Kimber's kits). They have a complete absence of customer service and have pissed a lot of people off over the years.Dom

I have a Kimber rimfire and it's by far my favorite gun. It's always the first and last gun I shoot at the range. Other than not having to hold open on last round, I have absolutely no complaints. I also own Ceiner & Colt Ace kits and they both are reliable and shoot well but I always go back to Kimber.
Ceiner is not pickey on the ammo but somehow does not feel right when shooting, kind of sluggish when cycling. Ace kit hold the slide open on the last round which is nice and also has a nice recoil feel but not as accurate (at least with the way I shoot). I would love to own an original Colt Ace but it's more than I can justify now so I'll just keep playing with my Ace kit.
I little to no experience with the Marvel or Advantage Arms so no comment on those but the new kits from the Tactical Solution seem like a nice setup (if you have $400+ to blow on a kit)

realize some others don't. The Ace is not as accurate as the others but
will come pretty close if you get the trigger pull clean and crisp at about
3lbs safely. One thing about the Ace's I have always liked is that they will
shoot ANY 22LR ammo reliably. They are also made of steel(heavier) and
of course the controls are such as they are identical to the 45. Pete

I own a Rimfire Target. It loves standard velocity ammo.
Pricey, but as soon as I picked it up, I said, "SOLD!". For bullseye competition, it was really great. So light, you can hold it out there longer. Big, easy adj. sights. My only complaint: Comes with one mag. C'mon Kimber. My Glock came with 2 at half the price.sigpic

I do not regret buying my Kimber Rimfire. It's a definite keeper. Light, accurate, and cheap to shoot.

I picked up a rock island 1911 and ordered an advantage arms conversion kit. Now I have a regular 45 1911 when I really want it.
You should get 2 inch or better groups at 25 yards with the 1911-22S Standard Kit. The average group for the 1911-22T Target Kit is 1.6 inch at 50 yards, using inexpensive ammo. Quality, standard velocity target ammo like Eley 10X can produce 1 inch groups when used with the optional reduced power recoil spring.Comment

I know it's not the same, but I have the Kimber Rimfire Conversion Kit (for my Warrior II), and that thing is, well, "super sweet". I like shooting it because it's plenty accurate, reliable and looks plain cool!-talking about the Sacramento "gang tax" being proposedOriginally posted by ViPER395Give me a a case of .223 and immunity and i'll solve the gang problem from that News10 weather tower crap.Comment
