    10/22 Magazine mod question...

I've searched, but either I'm typing in the wrong words to use or the search pulls up anything that has the word magazine in it.

Anyway, I want to be sure there's no issues or gray areas before I attempt to do something. Basically I want to take two stock 10/22 mags, sand down the bottoms flat, and stick them together.

    1) It saves me the hassle of having to pry out a little mag with man size fingers.

    2) It is convenient and doubles to keep two mags close by and quickly replaceable.

    3) By making it a permanent modification, it lessens the chance of a weak point failing when it gets bumped.

Now if I do this, can an enterprising and fork tongued gun hating prosecutor argue that I have manufactured ONE magazine that has a capacity over 10 in CA? Or, will it still be a 10 round mag because of the plastic that still separates them both? I don't think it would raise eyebrows where I am, but all it takes is that one curious and uninformed watcher with a cell phone to make things go south. I'm just trying to get ahead of the drama.

Perfectly legal and there are already commercial set ups to mount up to four factory mags together.

Oh wow, I gotta look that one up. I was aware of the one that mounts three together using another plastic piece. After it's put together it just looked too much like a scrote hanging off the 10/22, but I'm considering buying it. All reviews I've seen state that it's solid and is as close to permanent as you can possibly get without going the route I want to. Thanks for the info Cannoneer, much appreciated.

Gonna get the JB Weld out and make a Frankenmag just to see how it goes...

I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

Np, I saw the dual connectors that bolt on and said, why don't I use what I already have in the garage.....

Rogue, that does look interesting, now I notice that I'd probably only use something that's beyond 2 mags for a range only setup...too much hanging off on the sides...

For craps and giggles I should get that vented shroud, makes it look a little more evil even though no matter what's bolted on to it, it is still a 10/22 at heart.

Clips to snap-in and hold two mags together base to base:
