    Threaded Rimfire Handgun Barrel

Are threaded rimfire handgun barrels legal in California? I am intrigued by Tactical Solution's Pac-Lite Rugers.

on semi-automatic pistols with detachable magazines, a threaded barrel makes the pistol an Assault Weapon.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

      The threaded barrel is legal.

But, the threaded barrel on a semi-auto pistol that takes detachable magazines is not legal.

      Penal Code 12276.1
      (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following:
      (4) A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
      (A) A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer.

There is a difference between the TacSol barrels for the Ruger and the Buckmark. Ruger barrels (like the factory guns) are serialized and considered firearms. Very different from the Buckmarks, which are just barrels (parts).
