    Beretta 89 Gold Standard

Some of you may have seen I like Berettas..Especially .22s..The 89 is kinda my Grail one that eluded me until yesterday..It will not be here for a couple more days..But is on the way.

Guy I bought it from got it direct from Beretta through a connection he had with them..Do not know which were import marked but this one has none he said..He bought it brand new in the 90s..He at the same time bought a complete spare slide, had that barrel sent in and threaded..He fired 20 rounds suppressed through that barrel.Bought 5 spare mags at the same time...Never did fire the original upper slide assembly..And put it away till I bought it yesterday..

I paid a good amount for it..But it is likely the only 89 you will ever see for sale like it with all the extras..

Anyone who owns one tell me what you think of it..And how it shoots..I am guessing very well..Function I know will perfect as far as feeding, firing, and ejection with I bet any ammo I put in it..That is just the Beretta way,LOL

Going to be sweet Shooter I am sure..Should be a great companion to my 76 Target..Very excited to see it..Here are a few pics..

Being a huge fan of target 22s I’ve always wanted to shoot one. Are those Nills grips? Very nice gun. Alas , as little as I shoot these days, I’ll stick to my M41.

They are factory grips that come on the 89..Yes I have heard the 41 is a fine pistol..I have no idea on the 41 or the 89..But I have read the 89 is right on par with the 41..Some claim even the 89 may be better..I do not know about reliability and function on the 41 so much..But have read the 41 can be ammo picky sometimes..The 89 should run any and all ammo reliably, even the cheap crap..

                Thanks for the comments..

I'll just go and shoot my buck mark...

                  great score!

I owned a Buck Mark once..Mine must have been a Lemon or maybe the one magazine I had was defective..It never ran very reliably for me anyway, so it went away about 15 years back, got tired of trying to get it run reliably...Closest it would come to reliability was with CCI Mini Mags.....But I have read others have had great luck with them. I am sure mine was the exception, not the rule..It was an older Buck Mark..So you never know what some people do to Firearms in the course of their life to screw them up, (try to modify them) LOL

I own quite a few Berettas and they all run like a clock, and are not picky about ammo ever...Thanks

                        Thanks

Just picked it up at the FFL today..It is more than I ever expected..Some of the photos show a rough textures on the the slide and such..Must be from the camera..As it is as smooth as babys bottom in person..Came with a few extra spares I did not know were there..New recoil spring, lighter barrel weight, new grip screws, and a couple other small parts I do not know what they are yet,LOL Only one of the mags looks to ever have been inserted in the pistol..

Anyway is a jewel..Will let ya know if I can hit anything with it..

I wish you were closer by..You could sure shoot it..I would like to see someone shoot it to see what it could do..Not too confident with my old eyes getting close to its ability's..

Forgot..I did have time to run out and shoot one mag through it..I was shooting CCI SV..Function is as expected..Flawless..I was just plinking little rocks in a dirt pile..But it is very sweet and appears to have great accuracy potential..Racking the slide is like it is riding on ball bearings..Trigger is very, very nice..Best I have ever seen in anything I have ever owned..
