The BCA upper uses the CMMG magazine for 22LR so it should work in both. Are you using the magazine that came with the conversion kit or the one supplied with the BCA upper?

Hearsay only but the Ciener mags sound like they work better with the CMMG conversion.

    The CMMG® MK4 / AR15 .22 LR 10-Round Magazine is a conversion magazine compatible with .22LR conversion kits and CMMG MK4/Mil-Spec

I'm not sure what ships with the CMMG kit, is it the same one as in the link? Maybe try the Blackdog mags?

Just guesses on my part which isn't a good way to go but it's rimfire and I've seen two different magazines from the same manufacturer with one working flawlessly and another not feeding anything but one brand/type of ammo.

Let Go of the Status Quo!

Don't worry, it will never pass...How in the hell did that pass?

Think past your gun, it's the last resort, the first is your brain.

Defense is a losing proposition when time is on the side of the opponent. In the history of humanity, no defense has ever won against an enemy with time on their side.

Does the mag wobble when locked in? If so, the word around the campfire is that an adapter is used w/shim to keep things tight/straight so the rounds stay lined up to the breech. (catch22 adapter)

      Some campfire discussion here... https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threa...ppers.1235279/

Very strange. But thanks for that link. Still all ears for other opinions
              K.

Are the bullets getting damaged or just the case? If it's the bullet then my money says it's the magazine you're using. If it wobbles then try holding onto the mag when firing it and see if pressure on the mag changes things. Fore/aft/port/starboard/up/down and combos. Fire while alternating. Look for a pattern.

My old Ciener kit runs great in all of my AR clones and the best mags I've tried besides the oem are Black Dog already mentioned. Try the pressure test on the mag first and or try another mag if possible

*BD mags don't wobble in any or my clones.

Maybe unrelated, but worth mentioning...I have a CMMG upper that runs perfectly with Federal, but won't feed CCI Mini Mags properly. I assume it's due to the shape of the bullet, and it just doesn't like those short, blunt ones.

Been trying to feed it with Fiocchi HV with no success. Imma try with Aguila HV next since I just consumed my Federal HV brick before fiddling with the cmmg kit.
