Thinking of getting the Ruger model#5437 in 22 mag. Convince me on why to buy it or not. I already have the same model in 22 lr 8 shot and a Sig p238 in 380. This will be my first 22 magnum firearm in that specific caliber. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Note I already have a GP 100 in 357 magnum 4.25 inch. Leaning towards not buying one honestly.

Oh man, you got me interested in finding one.
These are the only 3 inch barrel 22 caliber Rugers on the roster.
Note that model 5437 is not on the California Roster.
The California Roster model number for the 22 mag is 05437A and it's not currently shown on Ruger's website (hopefully, this is just temporary).
It's probably more than I'd want to pay for it anyway, even if I could get it at $600 (MSRP is $719).
At least I have a single six with both cylinders for now.Last edited by BOBGBA; 12-08-2023, 10:30 AM.God Bless America - My iTrader rating - https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...2-transactionsComment

They have it available at Rifle Gear. It's CA approved.Last edited by darkstar2000; 04-11-2022, 7:33 PM.Comment

Thankfully, Fountain Valley is too far away for me to make 2 round trips to get it.
Interestingly enough the website shows it as model 5437.

You got me interested in the Single Six with the two different cylinder options 22lr/22wmr. Still leaning towards the LCRx though.Comment

Im leaning towards not buying one honestly. Just because I already have a LCRx in 22lr. Good point though.Comment

Good point! Quite happy with my 22lr LCRx honestly. Does everything I need it to do.Comment

I have both of the 3" LCRx revolvers (.22LR and .22WMR). The ergonomics are excellent, great grip design. Lightweight and basically impervious to corrosion because of materials used, these are solid little guns.
Ruger used a completely different mechanical design for these. Disassembly is removal of one screw in the front and it all comes apart.
The main and trigger springs on both are very stiff. I took my .22LR apart to experiment with easing the main spring (it has a 12lb spring, 10lb would be ideal, could only find a 9lb, not strong enough for DA).
The stiff springs make it difficult (for me at least) to achieve good accuracy. It is acceptable at short ranges but not even close to my single six (best) or SP101 (good) that I have in .22LR.
I started with the .22LR, liked the design and 8-shot capacity. I then bought the .22WMR for a little more wheaties for larger varmints around this place.
