So here's a question... how do the Henry H001 models stack up against the Rossi Rio Bravo? Specs are about the same. Price is about the same also.

I've never held the Rossi but I have delt with Rossi's customer service. I'd go with the Henry. The Rossi customer service is probably one of the worst in the industry.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

        Worse than Kimber?
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

          Answer: Yes and No.
Yes, it is a great lever action rifle, get it.
          No, get the Golden Boy.
(I have both the Basic one and Golden Boy, and I like the Goden Boy more).

Thanks. I'm thinking of getting a couple for my sons and I was leaning Henry but that seals it.

The Golden Boy is well worth the additional bucks. It really ups the game in fit and finish and the action is slicker than snot on ice.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Your boys are going to love em. I agree with AC and the others, If you can bump up to the Golden Boys it would probably be a better investment..

Either way, you can't go wrong.

The Golden Boys weigh too much.

Have H001 I bought at Walmart back when Walmart still sold firearms in CA. Only thing I have done to it, is replace the plastic front sight with a metal Hi-Viz sight.

It makes a fine weight for building up those arms. Up and down until it hurts.

I went from 16oz beer mugs to 20oz beer mugs to accomplish that.

I like my Golden boy fit and finish is great and a good shooter.

I have the H001L Big Loop. It's a fun plinker. My son in law bought a Browning BL22 at the same time I got my Henry. The Browning is really nice gun. It was about $300 more. That's more than I wanted to spend on a plinker.
