Wether it's plastic or not, the real question is: Is it a real AK? Or, does it just look like one?

My GSG5 is what it is. I like it but, I also know that it is not built to be the most durable, longest lasting .22lr around. It is as close to a .22lr MP5 as I can find short of a real MP5 and an HK .22 conversion kit. Both of which are extremely expensive. When it comes to AKs, there have been two different real AKs in .22lr imported within the last few years. The WASR22 is the better and more common of the two. If the GSG AK47 is not a real AK action, why would anyone want to spend more on one than a real AK22?

So you are saying the German Sports Gun AK47 22LR looks better than all of these?:

The GSG AK22 looks like it would have a hard time mounting an AK wood or folding stock. The GSG stock looks like it has a different screw mount.

We must wait and see. Eventually someone will get their hands on one of these and do some kind of custom work to it.

Looks GSG/ARMSCORISH and that pic is not good (is it a screw build /split reciever or worse ?) until Saiga rimfire arrives WASR 22/ AKT-98 / RPK 22 are still the best (unless you built an East German kit)

Who knows where you will be able to find anything for this rifle because we have no idea what the spec is. This is a plastic GSG airsoft rifle that almost looks like an AK. I agree that this is maybe 1 step above an Armscor crap.

Even your glorious WASR isnt without its issues. You want to know about many more issues with the WASR22? Just read through this thread here:

In my opinions the WASR can be just as problematic if not more so than the GSG or any of these other new .22lr rifles. Sure you get a "real" AK. The problem is your real AK is a WASR dude.

IMO if you want an AK22 I would hold out to see if the Saiga makes it here. I will take a Saiga over a WASR any day of the week.
