Ruger 22 convertable western style revolver

what are they worth,in good condition.My dad was looking at one that a guy had for sale ,PP he said he would sell it for $150.00 then next day he says "oh sorry i looked at the wrong one in the in the blue book ,it worth a $1000.00 ". is this possible? My dad looked at it said it was in good shape not perfect but a good plinker .It is a Ruger single action revolver ,it either 22lr and 22 short ,or its 22lr and 22mag not sure i did not see it for my self ,but it does come with 2 cylinders never deard of one bringing that kind of money ,but i could be wrong .

any help would be great.

It's called a Single Six. Is it a New model or old three screw? They come with .22 lr and .22 mag cylinders. $150 would've beeen a score for your dad. $1000- the dude is on crack.

Assuming it's a new model, I wouldn't pay over $250 for a used shooter.

FYI, pre '95 is not an "old model." Old model (3 screw) is *I believe* pre-'73.

I know it older than 1995 ,but i'm sure its newer than 1959 .I personaly did not see it .

update ,I was just told it was bought used in 1985.

Sold 2 and the most i could get was 250 ea. I felt that they where worth more.

If it's a mint condition NIB flat gate, personally peed on by a member of the Ruger family, maybe. But anything shooter grade, no chance.

You never know with the single six... Might be worth some dough. Shooters go for around $200-$250.

Like all guns, some are more collectible than others. There are rare Single Sixes that are worth a lot more than the standard ones, but $1k would be talking about something really unusual.
