    Burris RT-6 1-6x24mm on a 10/22 Takedown Lite

just sharing in case anyone was considering an lpvo for their rifle.
was using the pa red dot for 5+ years, and worked fine for plinking, but not so great if you want to try tiny targets at distance as a challenge.

regular scope would not fit in the cases and backpack i have already, and i didn't want to lose the quick shooting of the red dot. lvpo seems like the solution over a red dot and magnifier.

watched some vids and read some reviews, asked people that have tried several models...and decided on the rt-6. couldn't justify the cost of better glass for something that is mostly used <100 yards. made in the phillipines.

Looks nice. I have a RT-6 on a RRA. I did have to send it back for repair once but seems good now. Turret came loose (whole turret at the base). Good glass for the price.

I have a similar setup on one of my PC Carbines... with a Nikon M 1-4. I opted for traditional rings and slammed that thing down as low as possible so the eye piece almost kisses the back of the receiver.

Sweet! I have a Leupold 1-4 on mine.

Consider a set of ultra low scope rings to keep the cheek weld nice. The high weld given by AR-height rings makes me much slower when shouldering at 1x magnification. I also kept slipping out of the eye box at higher magnification.

      I used these:
Similar to the AD-RECON-S, the AD-RECON-SL mount is made for putting high power glass onto a bolt action rifle, M1A, M-14 or 10/22's. This mount is best suited for Bolt Action Rifles that feature an optics rail only above the action and does not have a handguard that extends over the barrel. This is the lowest mount that we offer. The AD-RECON-SL is a straight up scope mount with no eye relief built in. It is precision machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and finished in hard coat T3 Mil-Spec anodize. It features the Patented QD Auto Lock(tm) Lever system to accommodate both in spec and out of spec rail systems. Available in standard or Tac QD levers and either no built-in MOA or 20MOA built-in.

      Expensive but high quality.

You can do these in “30mm low” for a cheaper option of the same idea:

Both of those sets would move the scope lower end a tiny bit closer to the rear of the stock.

yep, the mount is higher than ideal, and doesn't need to be extended.
luckily the mount was a $20 throw in with the scope, so it may stay on there for a little while.

I plan on getting the PA 22lr LPVO in low rings.
