Question for the group. Is there any pro or con either way on these 2 rifles? I ordered a HK back in December, but when I was at a local store they had the Tac1 on the wall. I'm tempted to get the Tac1 and cancel the HK.

Get both.
They are pretty much the same.
They are all metal guns, well made with the most common complaint being that the bolt release is non-functional. You close the bolt via charging handle pull and release. It's not a big deal unless you can't handle more than one design at a time and must absolutely have something that works exactly like an AR in every detail.
The barrels are the tension kind and despite being pencil thin are very accurate. Like any 22 rimfire, try out various brands and weights of ammo to see what works best.
The finish is excellent and although not as light as say the S&W M&P15-22 the heft feels good in the hand. Its sort of having a breakfast of bacon, eggs, and the works instead of a Kale salad, you know you actually have something.
They both have that really nice HK grip.
The HK is an UMarex gun but is manufactured in Germany if you care about such things.
Magazines can be hard to find sometimes but they are available if you look, load up on them because you never know when they might not be around anymore. The magazines are very well made and are also metal but not the cheap flimsy type. They load easily.
Get either one or better yet, both. You'll find yourself using them more than anything else.
For maintenance there are Youtubes out there showing complete disassembly past what the manual documents in case you want to do a deep cleaning or adjust the barrel tension. I'd recommend just going completely through it before heading out just so you know everything is 100% (as you should with any other).Last edited by SharedShots; 05-13-2021, 11:06 AM.Let Go of the Status Quo!
Don't worry, it will never pass...How in the hell did that pass?
Think past your gun, it's the last resort, the first is your brain.

Hk 416 was on sale at Sportsmans Warehouse for $379 in December. Me and the neighbor claimed a few. It is a very cool gun for the money, I really like it.
I got extra mags here
