Ruger makes a Compact Stock for the 10-22, you can find them on ebay. They are easily recognizable, they do not have a barrel band. I bought two of these stocks for my wife's and daughter's 10-22s.

My 12 year old daughter shoots my 10/22 with the Blackhawk Axiom stock.

The youth stocks are highly desirable and sell fast. A chassis or AR15 style adjust very short and are a good option. An economical way to go is to just chop a few inches off a standard carbine stock. That's what I did for my son, also added a flip-flop butt pad.

I have one of those on a used takedown model I bought and yes you can make the length of pull quite short.

The magpul stocks on the take down models are pretty small and have length of pull adjustments. Not sure about the fixed stock versions. Hogue makes a nice stock for fixed stock rifles also. Good luck.

I use one of these for short armed people of every age. It's cheap and it works.

Leave the top cover off if you're gonna shoot factory sights.

I just picked up a 10/22 Compact that has the modular stock.
Also picked up the comb and no-comb standard-sized stock.
My kids and some friend's kids love it!

No need for an aftermarket stock...
