    Dissapointed in sig

I got an email back telling me the materials the 522 will be made of and then when it came up to having iron sights they only thing it comes with is a red dot cheap one by the looks. If I am wrong let me know but arent the basic part of a rifle especially if a 22 will cost more than 500 to at least have iron sights? thats cheating us because now we will have to buyy a rear sight if we want to have no optics, and the sight on their website for it is 200 bucks. I don't know if its just me or we are being screwed to be forced to buy stuff which for the price should at least allow a cheap fold up sight? I was thinking of getting the sig but not without a rear iron, so gsg is going to be my next purchase.

Q: Don't some people like plastic? Isn't that why Magpul exists?

Sig has let their marketing guys run amok, it appears.

They've always had the kind of quality reputation and fanboi following that takes decades to build, and now they're squandering it on things like cheap polymer and zinc handguns (Mosquito) and putting their brand on $80 Chinese optics and selling them for $200 (Sig/ITAC red dot).

They also starting shipping handguns with a single mag, then reversed themselves when the user and dealer outcry grew.

Time will tell if this Sig .22 rifle is any good, but it doesn't sound too promising.

My complaint was that it has no rear iron sight. The type of gun the 522 replicates the 556, or 550 or whatever has rear sights standard.

My take is SIGs are good as long as it's not in .22LR caliber.

The SIG Hammerli Trailside pistol feels good, shoots good, but it's cheap plastic mag screw up the overall reliability in long run.

Mosquito is just junk. It only has the look but nothing else. I tried the DA trigger and put it back on display with disgust. I am a lot happier with a Ruger MKII + $200 cash in my pocket.

SIG 552 is just like GSG5. You are buying the look, not the function or reliability. A Ruger 10/22 does the same thing with better reliability + $300-400 in my pocket.

Don't get me wrong, I got multiple SIGs, 2x P228, 2x P226. Still planning on expanding my collection. You can even call me a SIG fanboy but I would not blindly follow whatever SIG is throwing out. If it's a junk, it's a junk.
