    Marlin 60 Tube Extension

Hey guys, I've got one of the later (14+1 round) Model 60s and I was just wondering if it was possible to either extend the tube magazine, or get one from an older model (17+1 round) and just replace the one that's on there. It's the one with stainless barrel and tube, so I don't know if that'd make it harder to find or what.

    Thanks,

    -Turo-

You will need to post a pic of your gun. I would need to see what barrel you have. I think you can do it if you have the 22" barrel but back the late 80's they shortened the barrel. if you put the longer tube in it would stick out past the barrel. I also don't think they made those tubes in stainless but I could be wrong.

Here is mine with a 22" barrel and 17+1 tube mag. just to show you what I'm talking about.

      My 14+1 has a 19" barrel, I believe.

I know there was a few years that had the 22" barrel with a 14+1 tube but I doubt his is one of those since his in stainless.

I see. I'm not sure the length of my barrel, as I don't have access to it ATM but here's a picture of it:

          Obviously it's on the top.

I never thought about the barrel being shorter, I just thought they shortened the tube.

anyway, it's got the 14+1 tube on it.

I stand corrected... It does look like a 22" barrel. I don't know where you would find a stainless tube for it though. I'll take a look around and post it if I find one. I would have to say it is a lot of work and money just to have 3 more rounds. you will need the plunger rod as well.

Outer tube Marlin 60 Old Style

Inner tube Marlin 60 Old Style

Looks like the inner you need is sold out, but you can probably find one on gunbroker or maybe Marlin can help you out.

So that sounds like it would be interchangeable? or would they have changed that when shortening the magazine?
