Winchester 52 pre-A

I've got a Winchester 52 pre-A. It has been sporterized, with the barrel cut to 24".

I do not think it has the "crack of doom", but I'm reluctant to shoot the rifle lest I crack it.

I've posted a few pictures. Can anyone confirm that I do not have the "crack of doom"? If I do not, anything I can do to prevent it (except not shoot it)?

Hard to tell because of lint. There is something that looks like a line on left side of the receiver, easier seen in 4th photo.

Here is a thread on COD, you can see what crack looks like very well in the photo.
Doesn't seem to affect shooting the rifle, just can't use safety. But, I am not an expert on this by any means.

Thanks, guys. Looks like I dodged the bullet on the COD. Many people on RFC seem to believe that not using the safety will prevent the COD. I hope so, because I intend to shoot this one.

I'm sure even than manufacturers were aware of litigious pretenses, but it seems the cracking happened very seldom, one of the events that reasure me it did not happen that often is a video by Gunblue490, It features a pre A model 52 that seems well used and did not suffer any damage.

Lint is thinner than a crack so yours looks great! very good close up pictures, nice camera work.
