Anschutz 1717

I got this Anschutz 1717 (.17HMR) from Pacific Sporting arms in Azusa. They have the Annie contact looking for good wood cause they sell high end stuff.

Once I saw it, I had to get it. Had it pillar bedded by Master Class Stocks. They also sealed the forend and used Devcon for the bed.

Barrel is lapped too.

Very nice! I have a lowly 1517 that shoots great. I think about upgrading but that 1517 has some great charater marks in her (I use it for hunting) and at least 10k rounds down the tube. It is one of those rifles that just feels right. The .17 HMR is the best caliber to get it in. I love the wood on yours.

I chose bedding because Devcon is the best and wood changes as humidity changes and it gets wet and dry.

You know our muggy days and our dry as a desert days.

So, I want something more stable.


Moreover, my mind is VERY paranoid and I like things a certain way. I always get good equipment because unfortunately, my mind is very powerful and when I believe it the equipment, or the gun that is innacurrate because of it not being lapped or not being bedded, it will cause me loss of sleep.

This way, I know any bad shots are MY fault, not the rifle's.

So it;s a mental defect that caused me to bed it.
