I assumed that One Shot, One Dropped was either misinformed or had just misunderstood whatever he'd heard or read. Then, about 10 minutes ago, I stumbled across this video from Umarex. Skip to 1:30 - I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

As of 07/16/09 @ 1300 hours, mailman dropped off a package (2 Umarex 10rnd magazine), I then got my gear and drove to the nearest range. I shot 400 rounds of Federal and 100 rounds of CCI on my new Colt M4 Ops .22lr, no hiccups whatsoever and pretty darn accurate as well. I will miss shooting my Ruger 10/22. I may have to change my user name to: GotM4OPS.22?

What I tell ya! isnt it a sweet little rifle or what? Most of all, I am surprise of the accuracy at the 50yds range with a RDS. I was hitting dime size grouping.

                Couple of tips.

Bicycle chain (Dry Lube) works great on the bolt. It's Teflon and wax based. Less carbon build-up/wear in the action.

If after 200 round break-in there are any failures, use nine turns in (clockwise) on the bolt speed adjustment screw for "most ammo" according to Umarex. Factory setting on this cap screw is flush with rear of bolt body. We've had very few failures (just a couple on 200 round break-in) while testing several brands and types of ammo.

We just received 40 carbines, 50-10 round mags, and 50-30 round mags (for those who qualify). Email direct to barry@guncanyon.com

                    Colt M4 .22

just handled one today. nice feel, weight, balance and breaks apart just like an AR15. not bad for a dedicated .22. all metal upper and lower recievers. eveything about it says Colt M4. definitley on my wishlist list

Just yesterday I saw in Fremont Big 5 Sports
                      Smith & Wesson 'M&P’ 15-22 22LR and Colt 15 Umarex 22LR

Both rifles - for $599.00+ tax (also they have spare 10rd mags - $25.00)

I checked both - S&W - is REAL plastic rifle (as softball rifle), when Colt-15 - is better (from mine point of view).

I have cheap one for sale - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=248068
                      with 10/30 rd mag.
