CMMG Bravo 22LR conversion review and ammo test

I conduct a video review of the newest model of CMMG Bravo 22LR conversion kit (CA version) I purchased from Botach during a recent sale on the 3-magazine combo pack. This model has become very popular lately due to the recent COVID ammo shortage.

The main benefit of using this conversion is cost. This conversion is less than half the cost of a complete 22LR upper or a dedicated 22LR AR like the S&W M&P. And of course 22LR rounds are a fraction of the price of 556.

Don't be afraid to buy cheap, bulk 22LR and run it. Sure, you'll get more duds. But as a bonus, you'll also get extra practice clearing misfired rounds. Haha.

CMMG equals great products for sure,,You can always later on buy a dedicated barrel and collar and assemble a dedicated upper..

I started out with the dropin conversion the first time out..Went dedicated after that every time. Forget the SW 15-22.. Not that they are bad for some, seem to work well by most accounts., just they are a proprietary plastic AR copy. that feels like a toy to me, like an Airsoft Rifle...Just not for me..I am not wealthy, kinda cheap actually,LOL, but will pay more for a better product occasionally..

Some of my dedicated CMMG Rifles actually cost me less than the price of a SW 15-22..Can be done if you take time to scrounge the parts.

As far as ammo..Mine run about everything I have put in them, SV and High Velocity..Never tried Winchester ammo though, and will not,LOL

There is a Echo version of the CMMG 22lr conversion kit that contains a insert for the bolt group that allows your AR forward assist to work, so you will have full functionality. Also, CMMG has a "anti-jam" charging handle for the conversion kit. It is not made of metal, but prevents shell casings from wedging the handle and jamming the rifle that some have experienced while using this conversion kit. The forward assist and anti-jam handle can be purchased separately for people who already have the Bravo kit and have found a need for either item.
