Marlin Model 60 vs Ruger 10/22

Do you think Ruger will continue to make the Marlin Model 60 after the dust settles?

    Maybe call Ruger and ask??

I would expect them to keep the model 60 with the tube feeding. It really doesn’t compete with the 10-22 since the 10-22 is a platform for customization where the 60 is usually left stock.

I can't imagine one being dropped for the other. Different markets, different purposes.

The torches and pitchforks would show up at Ruger HQ if they tried to discontinue the Model 60.

It's the best selling .22 rifle of all time, I would expect they continue its production.

it would be awesome if they used the ruger plastic cause the marlin plastic is a bit weak

i say they will keep making them for as long as they are profitable they will probably lower the variations i think there are 5 different versions maybe bring it down to 2 blued and stainless

Should keep producing it. It's still a great seller and won't cannibalize the 10/22.

if there's anything to be worried about it's the 795, but even that will probably stick around to sit under the 10-22 at bargain basement prices.

I never liked the tube feed

I will admit that Marlin rimfires are accurate as all get out.

Marlin 60s are great guns. When I was a boy they were the ultimate back woods critter killing rifles. I used to go out into the country. I had some cousins who lived in the Temecula area in the 60's and as a boy you could walk around the area and try to shoot rabbits or squirrels. Those where the good old days. Very relaxing and no one hassled you at all for carrying a rifle even if you where 10 or 12 years old.

Marlin 60 is one of the best 22s out there for the price. Great guns.

                            I'll buy the stainless model.
