In terms of pistols, I think the only reliable ones out there are revolvers ... auto-loaders have feeding issues. I'm not as sure about rifles, but I just saw another thread about the upcoming Alexander Arms 17 HMR upper (for the AR-15) that will be coming out in the near future.

For rifles the only one I can think about is a Ruger 22mag
with a 17hmr drop in barrel........

My hunting partner and I have Rem 597's with the heavy barrels and laminated stocks in 17 HMR. With Remington 17 grain ammo they shoot 1" groups at 100 yards if it's not too windy. They're very reliable with the newer metal magazines. The only downside is the trigger pull,it's on the heavy side. We replaced the hammers with the Volquartsen hammer, it helped my trigger pull a lot, my partners rifle, not so much. The triggers can be stoned for a better pull, I haven't tried it yet.
