    Browning BL-22 rear sight

Below is the OEM rear sight for Browning BL-22.

I haven't been able to figure out how to aim with these sights. Too many notches. It's similar to the Ruger 10/22 sights, except Ruger has a diamond instead of a triangle. Couldn't stand the Ruger sights either. Anyway, rather than spend $80 for Skinner peep sights, I decided to bubba it.

I got the idea from a YouTube video. I bought rear sight meant for Ruger Mini-14 below, took off the plate with the hole and put it on the BL-22 sight. I just had to file down the sides because the Mini-14 is wider than the BL-22.

$18 bucks for that small plate is still not cheap, but the rifle is much more enjoyable because I can aim with it now. Shoots a little bit high, but I'll take it.

Why not just swap out the whole sight instead of filing on the aperture plate to fit the other sight?
It's probably the same size dovetail in the barrel.

And in case it helps, you put the brass bead in the notch and the aim point it right behind the brass bead if that's how you zeroed the sights.

      I don't have a sight pusher...
Even then, I don't know if the assembly is the same size.

              Thanks.
Years ago, I made an impetuous decision to sell my 10/22 because I didn't like the sights and I didn't like loading the rotary mag. I could have changed the sights and have gotten a Lula...

Well, before I did anything drastic with the BL-22, I decided to try some simple remedies.

Good work OP. I like it.
