I'm looking for an inexpensive plinker/squirrel gun. I already have a .17HMR and have a stock of .22mag from my Ruger single six. I was looking at Henry rifles but don't know that I want to spend $500 on a plinker, so I'm now looking at Savage models 93FV(bull blue) and 93G(econo) and comparing them to the Marlin models 983 (tubefeed hi cap) 982VS (bull stainless). Any opions from owners would be great or suggestions of other possible rifles. Thanks

I have a new 93 Savage that is great. Im going to sell it too, much less than you are looking to spend. Good gun, comes with a factory mounted Simmons scope too.
