I guess I will find out soon. I have this really old air soft "walter" wanna be red dot scope I bought years ago when I was still playin w toys/halloween. I will inevitably buy better glass but since I'm thinking sighting it in 25-50 yards why not play with this and see if it hold zero. Wachoo guys tink will happen?

Would an airsoft red dot scope survive 10/22 recoil?
A guy told me one time "don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat from around the corner"

I personally think there won't be an issue at all. Many of the higher end airsoft models mimic the slide blowback. Some of those movements are way more violent than the 22lr I have.
On my Walther MP5 I've been using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00457SRBI for the past six years. Tens of thousands of rounds at this point and zero issues. -
That's what NOT-Aimpoint red dots are for.

I mean, I'll confess that I bought a $30 Amazon optic on my .22LR rifle, and it has survived just fine. As a training optic firing something suffering very little felt recoil, especially dampened across an entire rifle, I didn't feel compelled to slap one of my Aimpoints or Eotechs on it. It makes a good training rifle for me, and an amazing training rifle for "first-time shooters."
And hey, if it does break someday, people can practice using irons. But so far so good.

I have a trs-25 on mine that was $40 on the amazon. Before that it had a bsa that had no issues i just wanted a better optic. Hard to damage a red dot with a 10/22I support peace through superior firepower.

I've had rimfire rated scopes fail on rimfire rifles. So, yes.Comment

Bushnel TRS25 is a very good red dot, especially for the money. Will even be fine on a shotgun or higher powered rifle in most cases...
Maybe a lower end Primary Arms? I would spend the little extra to get something above the airsoft quality though. Whatever it may be. I also really like Vortex stuff. Love the little Venom series red dots. But you are approaching the 180.00 to 200.00 new range there. But they have lifetime unconditional transferable warranty's. So worth the extra to me. And they have nice fine dots. Not the big blooming ones you find on most lower end crap.
I am budget minded too. Do not need a 600.00 red dot myself. But I will spend a little extra to get something half decent.Last edited by AR22; 08-17-2020, 10:29 AM.Comment

All I've used on my 10/22s have been airsoft scopes... its usually a combination of the violence of the action along with the gases that come from the firearm that throw the scope off zero. On a 10/22 it's like some say above... its less than some gas powered airsoft guns.

10-22 recoil? Maybe the bolt clacking back and forth, that isn't recoil to me.sigpic
