    Is a folding stock legal?

I thought I read somewhere that a folding stock was legal in California, IF it was a rimfire? Anyone have guidance? The gun in question is a GSG 5. Thanks

A folding stock on a rimfire rifle is legal as long as the rifle's total overall length remains at 26" or longer even when folded (CA law).

I bought a Samson folder for a 10/22 (mimics the factory Mini 14 folder pretty well and isn't cheap) and dropped an 18" barreled rifle into it. Makes 26 1/2" OAL when folded.

So much for swapping to a 16" barrel.

Seems like a cool stock, but I want to read a few real reviews! As you said, they are not inexpensive.
It's well made and fits the barreled receiver nicely. Locks up pretty solid, little bit of up & down wiggle - same as the centerfire originals. I think they could have done a better job sealing the wood.

Barrel channel won't fit a .920" or similar bull barrel, factory sporter only.

Cheek weld is pretty solid on iron sights, a little loose on low mounted scope. I have a little 4X 32mm objective mounted low and it's fine.

You need a barrel band & screw to go with it. I'm a bit over 6'4" and the stock metal is a bit shorter than Mini stock metal.

Overall, if I had to put a price on it I'd say it's an about $150.00 product., not $239.99. Only reason I got one is because I ordered 2 Mini 14 stocks, one from Samson & other from Ruger. Samson showed up first & despite the adverts the stock doesn't fit a Series 180. Fits 181 and later, so I of course bought a 195 series to go with the folder rather than return it. About a week later Ruger called and said "Oops, we just accidentally shipped you a 10/22 folder" rather than the Mini and I figured, having already paid, I'd keep it.

If I saw the stock on a shelf for $239.00 I'd pass.
