1972 Marlin ORIGINAL GOLDEN-39M assembly problems

FINALLY received my 1972 .22 Marlin ORIGINAL GOLDEN-39M as it came to my FFL in two bubble wrapped pieces as in take down mode. All parts seem to be there but I can't get it to re assemble. I also own a 1957 39A that assembles together quite easily but this M model will not go back together at all. Every part carries the same serial number so that's not the issue.
    Do you have one? Help!!

I have a 1975 39A since 1975 and it comes apart and goes back together easy.
Have you tried putting it together with the bolt removed and the ejector locked down ? In that state you should be able to feel better where its hanging up or if it it still does.

Thanks all for the support. After some creative wrestling and gentle persuasion the 39M went together, cycles and ejects perfectly.
