What are the legalities around selling a 22lr rifle? Do rimfire rifles have to adhere to the same laws (featureless, fixed mag) as centerfire rifles (ARs, AKs..)? Thanks!

All firearms must be transferred through a CA FFL dealer.
Only exemptions to this are:
1. The transfer is to an immediate family member or spouse.
2. The firearm meets CA's definition of an "antique firearm".
3. The firearm is a C&R and is being transferred to a person with a valid C&R 03-FFL and valid COE.
Rimfire rifles are exempt from CA assault weapons laws.
Rimfire rifles are not exempt from CA SBR laws.sigpic
