    LCRX Problem

I've got a Ruger LCRX .22 lr revolver. There is a torx bolt in front of the crane/cylinder that loosens up after about 300 rounds, that I have to retighten after I shoot it. In the instruction manual it says to watch this fastener and keep it tight. I would like to remove it, put some loctite on it and replace it. The instruction book does not mention doing this. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do to address it?

I don't have an LCRX, but putting blue loctite on it seems fine.

I have two LCR's (22LR & 22Mag) I shoot on a regular basis. 100 to 150 rds each, every time at the range. The 22LR has approx. 2,000 rds thru it while the 22 mag approx. 300rds.

I've never had the crane pivot pin loosen during or after shooting on either gun. While cleaning, I use a T-10 size driver to remove the pin, cylinder and yoke to give them a good cleaning. Afterwards, I reassemble the gun and firmly tighten the pivot pin. Not over tighten but firmly tighten. I've done this many times.

I would be hesitant in using loctite on the pin to keep it tight. I've never seen a need for it plus I think it might add to stripping the loctited pivot pin (on the T-10 driver side not internally) when removing pin, cylinder, etc. for cleaning.

        Good Luck.

          Beretta,
Thank you for your answer. That's exactly the insight I was looking for.
