Another good customer service experience with Ruger

I took my MKII to the range last night and as I pointed it at the target I noticed that half of the rear sight blade was missing. I haven't shot it in a while so I don't know when it happened.

Today I called in and told the woman that answered the phone that I'd like to purchase a new rear sight blade for my MKII. She asked if I have used their customer service before, I said yes and she found my name. She then asked if I wanted a square or v-notch blade and then asked me to wait for a minute while she finalized everything. She told me that the part will be at my house in 3-5 business days and there would be no charge.

This isn't the first time I've called Ruger to purchase parts I screwed up or broke and they sent me them at no charge.

I've had a much better customer service experience with Ruger than even a custom 1911 maker.

My only experience with Ruger service was for a Security Six .357 revolver, probably 15-20 years ago.

I bought it used, and it had been out of production for many years. When I took it to the range, a pin came out from the cylinder release, locking everything up.

I sent it back to them, and they fixed it for free and returned it 8 days later. My only cost was the $15 shipping to them.

Service performed: "Replaced pawl, trigger spring, ejector spring, rod washer, release button pivot, release button, repaired hammer dog and crane"

It's good to hear they're still doing it right!

My experience with Ruger customer service was great too. I broke the extractor in my mkii and they sent me one for free too.

I've dealt with Ruger cust. service a few times over decades and they have always been exceptionally helpful. They have done things like send me scope rings at no cost and switch parts at no charge as well. I don't often experience Ruger product issues but I am confident they'll always stand behind their firearms if I ever do.
