the factory 10 rd mags never gave me a problem on semi auto 10/22s and tcr22s but certain ammo is finicky in bolt action rugers. maybe measuring the 25rd mags against the 10rd mags.

Ruger BX-25 Magazine Issues

No problems with BX25's in any of my odd collection of 10/22's.
Strangely I've run into issues with the Razor based 10/22 wmr. It ONLY likes some of the 9 round mags, other mags look slightly different and don't seat/feed/eject well... I have enough that work well...Comment

Try putting duct tape around the mag so it fits snug.Comment

Mine had casing burrs inside the feed lip area. Filed them down and no longer have cycling issues.sigpic

I was thinking JB Weld ...I can't believe how many videos of mods there are for these. It seems a lot of people have problems, enough to go to lengths to try and fix it.
Here is Russian dude's mod, I aint saying he's wrong:

Got a BX-25 here in California when they were still legal as parts kits, took about five minutes to assemble and works flawlessly in my older pre-warning 10/22.Comment

Thanks to this thread I was able to detect what causes and where there was potential for failures-to-feed with these magazines. In my experience, it is in the metal casting. I must have, using ojisan's metric, a "middle hole" magwell arrangement, so I got lucky there.

I took the magazines, five BX-25s, and tested their function without the firearm; just the magazines and a hand-operated wooden dowel to serve as the firearm bolt to strip the waiting cartridge.
What I discovered were flaws in the metal casting that serves as the feed lips and ramp. Nice thing is that the BX-25 is very easy to disassemble, unlike their rotary counterparts.
A small, fine file and some patient reassembly/disassembly/reassembly/check function/disassembly/reassembly on each of five magazines resulted in proper feeding.
Thanks!.

My BX-25 mags all did this new.. I took them apart and cleaned them even though new. I also added the KIDD Magazine Latch Plunger and high tension spring to keep the mag centered and less wobbly. After using them more and more they are now reliable. Just kept using them.

I'm also using this in my 10/22... works great. Mags snap right in and sit tight in the magwell. My BX-25 mags all did this new.. I took them apart and cleaned them even though new.
