ALG ACT Trigger w/ Purple Spring In S&W 15/22?

    Sup folks,

I was thinking of upgrading one of my 556 ARs and demoting its current ALG ACT trigger to my 15/22.

I'm just concerned that my 15/22 will lose its excellent reliability if I use the lighter purple spring.

Anyone tried an ALG ACT with purple spring in your S&W 15/22? How's the reliability?

    Thanks,
    Mr. M

I have a similar setup and it worked well, still had some ftf but they happened at the average rate for the crappy ammo I was testing. With good-average ammo it ran fine, that being said this is always going to be a case by case basis because of varying tolerances in guns and ammo. Ymmv

My AR-22 has a $30 NiB trigger with the KP 3.5 lb yellow springs and the Joe Bob's trigger adjuster.

It has light, crisp pull, no take up.

Are you getting any light primer strikes?

I have a couple of old yellow JP springs in my parts bin, I might experiment with the Joe Bob trigger adjuster too.

All my triggers have the yellow springs both hammer and trigger. The exception is the AR-47. That has the standard hammer spring to fire Russian ammo.

Some of the single pull triggers have the Joe Bob's adjusters. Both AR-22's have them. Never an issue, zero problems. The Right To Bear NiB triggers for under $40 are better than the ALG's I have.

That's good to know, but I personally can't justify the cost of a Geissele trigger for my 15/22. Maaaaaybe a $99 Blackfriday G2S, maybe.

I've read similar reviews, I'll consider just leaving the ALG ACT where it's at and try one of the RTB NiB Triggers + Joe Bob's adjuster. I already have a spare purple ALG in addition to the two Yellow JP springs.

I put a Rise Armament trigger in my M&P (.22lr) and it works great
