    Browning A-Bolt

I'm not a rimfire guy but figured with this extra free time I'd dig out the .22lr A-Bolt that's been buried in the closet for a while. I have actually never personally shot it (kind of a long story on how I ended up owning it) so am going to go sight it in tomorrow with the older Tasco 4x32 thats mounted on it.

Bringing the wife & kids along as well. The boys (ages 6 & 8) haven't shot anything beyond their Red Rider BB gun so perhaps its time. This thing isn't the lightest .22 however so we shall see.

Anyway, figured some of you rimfire guys might enjoy the photos. It is a beautiful rifle no doubt. Hopefully she shoots as good as she looks.

Yes, have some family fun shooting that rifle. I have always liked the A- bolts; one of the finest looking rifles ever made. If it shoots as good as the .270 and .308 I've shot, you're in! Let us know how the family did.

I wish they still made the A-Bolt in .22, there would be one in my safe along with my A-Bolt Medallion in .300WSM and my X-Bolt Medallion in .308 Winchester.

It shot pretty well I'd say. Half inch to 3/4 groups at 50 yards. Wind was between 6-10 mph. The rifle is still a bit too heavy for the boys to shoot unsupported with any kind of accuracy. Off a bag though they were killing it. Literally...my 8 year old got his first kill today haha!

I have one in 22lr and another one in 22 magnum. Great rifles. The are full sized rifles and very comfortable to shoot. When you use it does not feel like a 22lr. It feels like a regular centerfire except for the lack of recoil. One of my favorite 22s.

My 25-06 is a shooter. I'd have no doubt the .22LR is.
