Not sure how down I am with a plastic 1911 and a plastic AK. Look at the seam on the 1911 frame and what is with the non authentic dimensions on the AK receiver? And what is that selector switch under the sight block, is it an on/off switch for the cool gun go bang sound effects??

edit: i found this thread about the 1911 on ar15 http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=41&t=266512 they say the one in the original pic is a dummy and plastic but the ones they show at shows and conventions are steel and feel just like any other 1911

Interesting ... I just noticed that the Sig 522 has a twist rate of 1 in 7" -- inappropriate for 22lr. This leads me to believe the Colt M4 .22 will shoot better; it has a 1 in 13.75". Not sure what the twist rate for the new S&W is.

Yea lol. All dedicated .22 uppers are 1/16 twist. 1/7 is a big "no no" for AR barrels shooting .22lr.

The S&W is 1 in 15". I'd say that and the Colt are close enough, but yeah, I'm staying away from the Sig. Seems like they're trying to save money by re-purposing their .223 barrels or something.

This might be a mistake. I will believe it when I see a production model with my own 2 eyes.

No, sorry, I don't know of any dealers that are pre-ordering -- but then again, I haven't been asking. I don't see the gun on S&W's Web site, so it still may be a while.

Sig's site definitely says 1 in 16" as of right now. I don't know if I checked it before, but I should have. I left a comment asking The Firearm Blog to edit the article ... I feel like an idiot for perpetuating a typo.
