The S&W 63's are great little guns.
They are accurate, fit a smaller hand and can be used for targets, plinking or training.
The 63's have a premium since they so easy to carry, care for and eat cheap .22lr ammo.
These are too new to be C&R's but there are a few 63's on GB and Calguns that can be PPT's if you live in the local area.
I have seen prices go from $450ish to over $2,300.
I would think somewhere in the $600-700 range would be "reasonable" behind the wire here in California.

I've got a 3 inch model 63, very nice little kit gun. They're on roster, so if you can get by with the shorter barrel, you can go to your lgs and pick one up.

Great for plinking and carry in the woods for small critters etc - they are seldom seen as people tend to keep them, same with the 34(blue mdl)

          You are right.
I've quit looking at the Roster since my wants/desires are rarely satisfied there and I go more for the older S&W's.

Also, the current version of the 63 is also 8 rd vs 6 rd with the older ones.

I have two of them in 4”. And a 4” Model 34. I was buying them for my kids when they were learning to shoot. I really like them.

Pros: Very accurate, good quality, fun to shoot in DA.
Cons: The DA triggers can be heavy, the Wilson Combat J Frame spring kit helps. Shell casings get stuck, bring a small screw driver to push them out. Many are square butt, and it can be hard to find after market square butt J Frame grips.

As CalifEd said, $600 - $700 is reasonable, but you may find one cheaper. All of mine were great condition and less than $600. One less than a year ago.

They can be hard to find, but I have seen them sit in gun stores for a while before being sold. People don’t like to spend.357 revolver money on a .22 revolver, even though they are more rare than the 357s made in the same time period.

Good luck. I hope you find a good one.
