Since it comes apart and goes into the stock it is NOT a weapon when carried that way.
Even when the punk-assed officer says he was "afraid for his safety" The judge will laugh at his *** when he sees the butstock-and that is all. If they assemble it for the trial, you'r lawyer can object that they are manufacturing evidence.

take anything and everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt, especially if it has to do with potential legal matters that can get you thrown in jail for a long time

I dont think you can claim that it is not illegal because someone said it on the internet

Technically not true. A gun doesn't become a non-gun just because you disassemble it - the receiver is still the firearm, and all laws apply.

Whether the judge would throw it out or not would depend entirely on the judge.

agreed. it is still a gun, just a partially disassembled one in a case (the stock).
so it really depends on the PC in question or what legal definition the quoted party was trying to evade/defeat...
but generally it sounds like hooey...
