    Cz 455 varmint scope needed

I have a 455 varmint, it has a vortex 2x7x32 scope on it

Shoots great out to 50 yards

I need something for 100 yards, these old eyes need more magnification
To see holes at 100 yards,
Would like to stay with vortex or mueller

    With 300 being my budget.

What should I be looking for.

These are nice scopes at the top of your budget. Two reticles.

Nice rifle, a CZ is on my list down the road...

I know you mentioned Vortex and Mueller but don't count out the Nikon's and Burris scopes. Many of them are all made in the same country, Philippines, including a lot of the Vortex brands and under $300. They also have lifetime warranties too.

I own Vortex and Burris, 3-9x40 and you can see the 223 holes at 100yds with 9x magnification but I'd recommend you get at least 12x on the max side for even better viewing.

A lot of good sales on Nikon's because they're getting away from sport optics in hunting.

        Good luck on your search..!

Its a bit of overkill, and a bit over your budget, but my cz455 has a Sightron s-tac 3-16x42moa. Very nice glass, AO, lifetime warranty. I can see .17 cal holes at 100 yds with that thing.

They also make a 4-20x50 that costs and weighs about the same as the 3-16. https://sightronusa.com/s-tac-series/
the scope is mounted in BKL low rings. https://www.bkltech.com/BKL-30mm-6-L...-p/bkl-303.htm

(The bottom rifle is a Mossburg MVP with a Sightron sii Big Sky 6-24)

There are a lot of good suggestions in the other posts. You should be able to find a good scope from them

I have a 455 Varmint that I shoot from a bench that has a Mueller 8-32x44 target dot. In fact I have two of them, the other is on a Brno #4. Both very good clear. Very good for what they cost.

If you like your scope you can keep your scope. (I use a Bushnell 4x12 on my CZ 17hmr)
Go to a brick and mortar store and look through some different units. That'll help you decide.

Have you looked into spotting scopes? Lots of them for your price range.

My rifle is pretty light with scope/bipod and I mostly use it for culling g-squirrels around the ranch. Spotting scope helps me find the smarter ones further away and is just easier to find targets when I'm sitting for a long time. Minimum muscle tremor because it's a stand alone spotter mounted to a tripod. I don't have to keep holding the rifle all of the time using my rifle scope as a poor man's spotting scope.
The spotting scope will help with all of your rifle's longer distance shooting and the initial sighting in.

"Shoot n See" targets help, but passed 100 I have a very hard time seeing any 17/22 holes in any paper target. YMMV.

Maybe one of those Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44's?

                I have a SWFA 10X on mine.

I put one of these on my Savage in 17 HMR, great at 100 yards. I think you can find them for less than $200.

I have a SWFA 16x42 scope on my Varmint 457. It is a great scope. Suited more for target shooting, but a great scope, especially for the price.

Burris makes some nice 4.5 to 14 power scopes, front bell about 42 to 44 mm. Adjustable Objective helps alot. Range is about $250.00 or so, maybe a bit less if you find something on the SWFA "Sample List".

For the purpose of seeing holes in paper, try a spotting scope.

I picked up the little Minox MD50 16-30 for $200. Good value.
